Sales Volume and Prices Rise! 2010 is starting off very strong in comparison to 2009. Total sales volume has increased over $110,000,000 or 77%. But how much of this gain reflects sales in the distressed sector? The answer is less than it did in 2009. In 2009 44% of the units sold were distressed as compared to 38% in 2010. There is a noticeable increase in the median and average price for both distressed and non distressed properties. This is due to a shift in the troubled sector from the very low end properties, primarily located in Novato and central San Rafael, to low-mid range ($500,000-$750,000) properties throughout the county.
